Best Question Ever Asked!

Sixteen years ago yesterday Eric asked the best question he would every ask. "Will You Marry Me?" We started dating in February of 1993 and he asked the question on May 5th. I know, I know WOW that's fast. But hey, when it's right it's right! I was mesmerized by his charm, humor, and good looks. Another bonus he had was he played the guitar. I never thought that would get me but it definitely helped. I loved when he played his guitar. It would completely relax me.

On that great day we were hanging out at his place and he was playing his guitar. I knew most of his songs from hearing them many times. He gave me a list of about 4 songs, I picked one and he began to sing. When that one was done I picked another, then another. When he was done with the third song there was a knock on the door, it was his parents down for a day visit. Well just as quickly as they came they went. I thought, how strange but Eric said they were off to see his brother first.* By this point I was completely relaxed and on my way to dream land. Well I kept picking the wrong songs so he began another song and before I realized it I heard something about eternity and realized what he was doing. I don't think I actually heard those 4 words but I sat up, no, I jumped up and started hugging him. He finally said, "Well is it yes or no?" Of course it was yes! The next time I was able to hear that song was at our reception. He had only written up till the part when he popped the question. He then finished the song over the next couple of months and sang it to me at our reception. It is of course my song and my favorite!!

*Later I found out that his parents were there asking if he'd asked the question yet. He told them that he was just getting the nerve up to do it when they knocked. He kindly asked them to leave and got back inside and finished what he started to do.

Eric's roommate took this picture. It was right after our first kiss and I totally and completely knocked him off his feet!!

I love it! I know I've heard that story before, but it is sooo sweet! Do you have any footage of Eric singing at your reception? Those pictures are awesome too! I love your stone washed tapered ankle jeans - (don't you wish you still had them for your kids to wear to school for '80s day!) Congratulations on your engagement anniversary!!

I think it is great when people post their old pictures. Good for you. That's your story! And what a sweet story.

I always knew that Kalia looked like you, but here it is even more obvious.

That cream dress from the EAC dance is the same dress I wore to the temple and at our luncheon after the wedding! You have great style! Happy Anniversary! Time flies when you're having fun!
