Along for the Ride

I feel kind of dumb writing something about myself but here it goes. I was out trying to get some exercise and as I approached 16th St I watched this truck pull off onto the canal and a man jumped out with a camera. I wasn't quite sure what he was taking a picture of until I started to cross 16th and he followed me. He motioned for me to stop so I did as he got closer to me I could see the Sun emblem on his shirt. I told him I was trying to get out of the way so I wasn't in his picture and he responded "You don't want to be in the picture?" I told him it was fine but then he went on to say that he didn't get the picture. He then asked if I was going to cross 20th St and asked if it was all right if he tried taking it again. I agreed and so I slowly pedaled my way while he went around to try to beat me. I watched again as he jumped out of his truck, this time with a tripod in hand, and started taking pictures. I asked if he got it and he said no. I told him 24th St was next so he headed off. This time I went really, really slow so he could beat me. He did and got our picture. This is what I found in the newspaper the next day.

Malia Blair pedals her bicycle along the Thacker Canal in the Yuma Valley on Wednesday morning, with 2-year-old son Hayden, looking bored with the whole ordeal, along for the ride. The somewhat mild morning temperature made conditions good for a comfortable ride.

I think the point of blogging, is to write about yourself...isn't it? I'm glad you wrote about it, because somehow I missed it in the paper.
